SouthPark Pediatrics is beginning our new Patient Brag Highlights on our website and Facebook.  All patients are encouraged to send information to our SouthPark Pediatrics website “Contact Us” email (info@southparkpediatrics.net) to allow us to recognize your achievements on our website and Facebook .  Examples of highlights we would like to hear about include specific academic, musical, sports or other types of honors and awards. Please verbalize consent that we can share this information.  Thanks to all as we are so very proud of you!

SouthPark Pediatrics continues to collect Yoplait pink lids for Breast Cancer Awareness.  Save Lids to Save Lives!  Please bring your Yoplait pink lids to our front office staff by Friday, December  2, so that we can do the work of sending those in to raise money for breast Cancer Awareness.

Update on Vaccines
• Flu shots for all ages have arrived!  We will be having flu shot clinics to help with efficiency on Monday, Thursday, and Friday mornings.  However, your child can be scheduled to receive their flu vaccine at other times as well.  Call today to set up your appointment!  As a bonus, patients can register for our weekly t-shirt drawing (new design!).
• HPV is recommended for girls and boys, ages 11 years and up.  Please click here for more information.
• Tdap is recommended for moms, dads, grandparents, and caretakers.  Infants are not fully protected until completing their primary series and booster at 4 years old.  A nuisance cough could go untreated and be Pertussis (whooping cough), so this booster for adults surrounding newborns through preschoolers is recommended.
• Menactra booster is now recommended before college.

Continuing our initiative for commitment to effective Asthma Management
• We will be offering support services from Stop Smoking campaigns, which we are hoping to introduce during family visits for flu vaccines.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Continuing our initiative of effective Weight Management (and minimizing risks of developing diabetes, heart attacks, and strokes)
• We plan on developing this initiative with education on nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle guidelines.  These guidelines are meant to support successful prevention of risks that develop from being overweight.  Cortney Danner, CPNP will be contributing to this initiative with insights from her thesis, Obesity in Childhood.
SouthPark Pediatrics for the Community
• Save Lids to Save Lives!  SouthPark Pediatrics will be collecting Yoplait Yogurt Pink Lids to enhance Breast Cancer Awareness.  For each lid collected, Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.  Pink lids will be in stores beginning this week!  Lids can be dropped off at the check-in / check-out windows through Friday, December 2.
Ear Piecing by Cortney Danner, CPNP.  If you choose to have your daughter’s ears pierced, we believe that the best option is having it done at a doctor’s office. Not only is it a safer and more sterile environment, but the piercing will be done by someone who knows and cares about your daughter! Requirements: Child must be up to date on DTaP, and be at least 6 months old.
